Luxurious lifestyle hospitality offering Mondrian Doha is set to open its doors in spring 2017 with sbe, a lifestyle company, bringing the Mondrian brand to Doha and marking its debut in the Middle East.

Bringing the up-all-night intensity, energy and Sunset Strip vibe of the original Hollywood Mondrian to Doha, guests will be opened up to a fantasy-like environment and to a new world of endless possibilities.

Designed by Marcel Wanders, along with South West Architecture, Mondrian Doha was created with a mission to evoke an environment of love, filled with passion and to make guests’ most exciting dreams come true.

The 270-room hotel will buzz with the instant gratification, the perfect provocative moments and confident cool that Mondrian is known for worldwide.

 

Central location

Mondrian Doha is situated at the heart of the city, in the luxurious West Bay Lagoon, and at the gateway to Lusail City. Mondrian Doha is part of the famed Mondrian boutique hotel chain, which opened its first property on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood.

Structurally, the building is shaped like a falcon, with many references to the national bird of Qatar also found inside; from paintings and portraits to falcon headpieces and ornaments. Mondrian’s famous lobby scene, the soul of the hotel, re-creates the see-and-be-seen vibe of the original Mondrian concept and will be the place to meet of all hours of day and night.

Further highlights include the stained glass dome skylight on the 27th floor and a striking custom-designed four-level-high spiral staircase to nowhere. The property will have a number of distinctive room categories to choose from, including penthouse suites, studio suites, one- and two-bedroom suites plus a range of standard guestrooms.

 

Guestrooms

All of the guestrooms allow for flexible configuration in a bright, airy space and with a warm, soft color scheme, with pale hues of cream and yellow reminiscent of Qatar’s desert. Additionally, all s rooms feature bespoke miniature artworks, luxurious custom-made furniture and Swarovski crystal chandeliers.

Guests will have the opportunity to experience the hotel’s culinary emporium, boasting eight restaurants and bars to dine at, including a number of new offerings to Qatar, as the hotel looks to provide an unparalleled epicurean experience for its guests.

 

Renowned chefs

While Middle Eastern cuisine is at the heart of Mondrian Doha’s food and beverage offering, a number of internationally renowned chefs will be bringing their concepts to the property, including Wolfgang Puck, master chef and restaurateur, bringing to the Middle East for the first time his highly acclaimed and exciting concept, CUT by Wolfgang Puck.

Japanese chef Masaharu Morimoto, who has garnered critical and popular acclaim for his seamless integration of Western and Japanese ingredients, will introduce Morimoto Doha, the first eponymous Morimoto outpost to open in the Middle East.

Moreover, Mondrian Doha will boast Magnolia Bakery located in the heart of the lobby and a number of other concepts, including an authentic Qatari restaurant and a burger restaurant, cigar lounge and sheesha terrace.

 

Spa and ballroom

Mondrian Doha boasts the largest ESPA Spa, with over 2,000 sq. meters space spanning across an entire floor, quite simply the next generation of spas. Standout features include separate areas for men and women, 11 treatment rooms, a spa within the spa and authentic Hammam facilities as well as specialized areas for disabled guests.

The property offers a grand and spacious wedding and multipurpose ballroom with over 2,000 sq. meters, one of the largest in Qatar, that can hold up to 1,500 guests and can be transformed into different settings with distinct atmospheres, ornate plaster ceiling domes with crystal chandeliers that create a sense of occasion and opulence, as well as a hidden VIP bridal suite with 15-meter-high columns.
